The rustic mountain village of Red Feather Lakes is surrounded by adventure – and our cabins are a great way to access it. There are plenty of activities to tackle like hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, off-roading, frisbee golf, golf, climbing, snowshoeing, ice skating, tubing & much more!
WINTER ACTIVITIES
In Red Feather Lakes
- Beaver Meadows is a 15 minute drive and offers a tubing hill and ice skating. You can call and find out about pricing at 970-881-2450.
- Ice Fishing is available at the 3 nearby public lakes (5 minute drive).
- Snowshoeing is available all around the area as snow permits. See the “Hiking” stripe on this page for specific areas.

HIKING

There are beautiful trails all around us up here, some even lead to breathtaking hidden lake views.

FISHING
In Red Feather Lakes
Red Feather Lakes provides ample fishing opportunities. We have 3 public lakes that you can fish with a valid Colorado fishing license or you can purchase a permit to fish all 8 private lakes for $40 a day per person. There is an option to purchase a permit right from our website when booking a cabin. All lakes are stocked and in close proximity, the lake directly across from our cabins and tavern is one!

CANOEING & KAYAKING
In Red Feather Lakes
The lake across from our property does not allow boating however just up the road about half a mile is Lake Hiawatha which does. You can canoe or kayak or paddle board with the same fishing permit available to purchase when booking a cabin.

HORSEBACK RIDING
In Red Feather Lakes
Horseback riding is an excellent way to see some beautiful mountainous areas that you otherwise might not get the chance to see. There are three properties 10-15 minutes from our cabins that have stables and offer horseback riding. You can contact and book directly with any of the locations:

OFF-ROADING / ATV

There are trails you can get on and explore all around this area. Deadman Road is one of them – it’s nearby and offers several trails to explore.

- NOTE: You do not need a special permit to ATV, you just need to use a road specifically marked as OHV.

FRISBEE / DISC GOLF

Sundance Trail Guest and Dude Ranch has a 37 “hole” or basket professional frisbee golf course. A great activity for all ages! No reservations are required.
